The Provisional Electoral Council is responsible for organizing
and supervising free and fair municipal, parliamentary and presidential
elections in Haiti.
MINUSTAH was established by an April 30, 2004, resolution of the
United Nations Security Council. Its mission in Haiti is to support
the Transitional Government, the constitutional and political
process, and human rights institutions and groups.
